WHY ITS A GREAT IDEA

In winters,the cold weather is bound to cause a build-up of dryness,clogged pores and blemishes on the face.Natural ingredients such as Vitamins A,B,C and E act as a moisturizer and reduce the roughness.And all these vitamins are easily available on your kitchen shelf or in your refrigerator.

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:


CUCUMBER

 

With its cooling effect and hydrating power,cucumber works great for the eye,but its also great for a spotless skin.
Tip: Just grate a little and chill it in the refrigerator and use it on your face,after you have cleansed it.It will help soothe the skin and reduce under-eye puffiness.

 





PAPAYA
 

This is great for removing dead skin.Papaya can effectively exfoliate the skin as it has a special enzyme called papain that removes skin impurities.
Tip: To make a papaya facial mask,blend a few papaya pieces and some rice flour and apply this to the face for 15 minutes.It helps tighten the skin and gives it a glow.

TOMATO

 

Go ahead,smear that tomato on your face.It has lycopene,considered to be an age-defying ingredient.Tomatoes can also reduce blackheads and pimples and battle acne.
Tip: Simply crush a few pieces of tomato and put the pulp on the face.Wash after 10 minutes.

OATS

 

Oats Face Mask
Oatmeal is natures easiest solution to oily skin.It contains saponins that aid in expelling dirt from pores.Oats also have oils that can soften the skin.
Tip: Blend oats,add honey to it and apply the mix on your face.Keep for 10 minutes.

AVOCADO

 

Avocado is a great source of Vitamin A as well as other essential nutrients.It can tighten pores and give the skin a glow.It has glutamine,which can protect the skin from environmental damage.
Tip: A winter face mask can be made by mashing half an avocado with a teaspoon of olive oil.Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash it off.

WATCH OUT FOR THESE:

  • Most masks made of food cant be preserved for long.Just prepare one when you need it.
  • Avoid applying masks that contain lemon juice near the eyes,as this area has delicate skin.
  • Always check if you are allergic to a certain food or fruit blend before using the masks.
  • Lemons and strawberries are acidic,so dont leave these masks on for more than 4-5 minutes.
